User guide

Practical platform guide

A walkthrough of every IOLX module, explained as a workflow. The guide describes organization, calculation, documentation, and follow-up features; it does not replace professional validation or the center's clinical protocols.

01

Sign in and navigation

Purpose

Access starts from the login screen. Once authenticated, the sidebar acts as the main index of modules.

Use

Use the language selector to switch between Spanish and English. The user menu contains profile access and sign out. If your account has elevated permissions, the Admin panel appears alongside the other modules.

Detail

The public flow keeps information, guide, legal document, and access links available. The private flow focuses on the user's operational work.

02

Dashboard

Purpose

The Dashboard gives a daily work view: recent cases, orders in progress, and calculations that may require post-operative follow-up.

Use

From each case, continue the related work: review the comparison, open available actions, register pending information, or export documentation.

Detail

Use it as the entry point when you need to understand what is open and what needs administrative or documentation attention.

03

New IOL calculation

Purpose

This module creates a new calculation case. It can start from a compatible report or from values entered manually by the user.

Use

Upload an IOLMaster or Pentacam PDF when available. If there is no report, complete the clinical, biometric, and visual profile fields in the form.

Detail

Before moving forward, check that the data belongs to the correct patient and eye. The quality of entered information affects any calculated output.

The platform shows calculations for professional review; it should not be treated as an automatic lens recommendation.

04

Formula and lens comparison

Purpose

The comparison table groups outputs from published formulas alongside lens models from the catalog.

Use

Review available formulas such as SRK/TII, Haigis, Holladay 1, Hoffer Q, and Castrop when the case has enough data. Filter or inspect lens models according to the loaded catalog.

Detail

The table is designed for reading and documentation. Final selection, power validation, and clinical coherence remain outside any automatic system decision.

05

Saved calculations

Purpose

The Calculations section works as an operational case history. It lets you search, reopen, and continue saved work.

Use

Search by patient, lens, eye, or date. Open a case to consult its table, export a PDF, register follow-up, or create related actions.

Detail

Keeping history clean helps orders, returns, outcomes, and documents remain traceable from the same source.

06

Lens inventory

Purpose

Inventory contains the lens catalog used by the platform for lookup, comparison, and later operations.

Use

Filter by manufacturer, type, toric availability, power, constant, material, or other characteristics available in the catalog.

Detail

Inventory is an operational reference. Always check real availability, manufacturer conditions, and internal processes before using it for a logistics action.

07

Orders

Purpose

Orders centralizes requests created from saved calculations and lets users review their status.

Use

Create the order from the corresponding case to preserve context. Then use the list to review status, manufacturer, model, and administrative traceability.

Detail

When automated sending is configured, review manufacturer and lens information before relying on the scheduled process.

08

Returns

Purpose

Returns documents unused lenses and their status within the administrative workflow.

Use

Register the lens, associated order, and corresponding status. The flow includes states such as pending, requested, accepted, or rejected.

Detail

Accepted returns can later appear reflected in the monthly economic summary.

09

Outcomes

Purpose

Outcomes stores post-operative data and displays historical summaries associated with registered cases.

Use

Enter post-operative refraction when available and review aggregate metrics by lens, formula, or period when enough data exists.

Detail

Constant tools are for internal review of recorded data. Any change applied to constants must be validated by the responsible professional and the center's approved procedure.

Do not interpret summaries as a guarantee of future clinical performance.

10

Billing

Purpose

Billing summarizes activity by manufacturer and period, including line breakdowns and accepted returns when applicable.

Use

Select the period, review totals by manufacturer, and check that orders and returns are reflected correctly.

Detail

The summary helps administrative control, but it should be reconciled with invoices, delivery notes, and the center's accounting process.

11

Profile, feedback, legal, and administration

Purpose

Profile contains user data. Feedback allows issue or improvement reports. Legal documents are available from the footer.

Use

Use Admin only with authorized accounts to manage users, lenses, manufacturers, feedback, and platform statistics.

Detail

For issues, include case context, affected module, and reproduction steps. Avoid including unnecessary information in feedback messages.

Recommended routine

To get started, create a test case, review how information enters the platform, open the comparison, export a PDF, and locate the case in history. Then review inventory, orders, returns, and billing as modules connected to the case, not as isolated screens.
